Dean Lightfoot, Area Developer Australia for Nautical Bowls, took a quick moment to talk us through the brand launch in the country, and some key details in positioning it in the marketplace.
"So Nautical Bowls. We're an Acai Sorbet based brand.
It's all about good, clean living and eating.
Nautical Bowls Store Locations
So we're opening stores at Gold Coast, Brisbane and then also Perth opens next week.
Tell us about the brand
I just think the product's really relevant to where we are as a country.We want to eat healthy.
We're plant based, we're soy free, dairy free, and it's just all about really clean, locally manufactured products as well.
So all of our products are locally here, done in Queensland.
The ideal Nautical Bowls franchise owner
I think it's people who really want some freedom with their life, that's a really affordable entry point.
They want to deliver a beautiful product to their customers and know that when they're selling something to their guests, they're selling nutrition and something that's healthy and it's a superfood.
Key focus in growing the Nautical Bowls brand
Yeah, I think our focus is if we have successful franchisees, by default, we're going to be successful and we can help grow the business.
I myself was a franchisee for a long, long time, worked with many brands, and it's really important that we’re there support our franchisees to grow their businesses together.
The Nautical Bowls low-entry cost strategy
So we've worked really tirelessly on the fit out, that it's a bespoke fit out that's very affordable and we've kept that entry price level down to around $200,000 for a store, including a franchise fee, fit out equipment, the whole lot.
I want to de-risk people being able to grow their own business. I want them to be able to afford to get in and then pay it down really, really quickly.
Possible misconceptions about the brand
They might see that it's maybe a bit of a really segmented brand for a lower base.
It's a meal replacement product, it's a new way of eating, it's trending worldwide and it's a different way to consume a beautiful, healthy product and a superfood.
You could have it before your workout, before work, in the afternoon with the family, at breakfast time.
Key focus for the future
So the key focus is making sure we have successful franchisees and the locations are right.We're not going to open stores just for the sake of opening a location.
We want to make sure that we're setting ourselves up for success across the board."
