Rubber Stone Franchise Q & A with Jayme Kegel

Rubber Stone is a rubber resurfacing, family-owned franchise business that started in Canada over 35 years ago.

A standalone franchise, or it can be an odd-on to a landscape business for example.

We spoke with Jayme Kegel, who is the Australian Resident Director for Rubber Stone Global, about the brands' expansion into the Australian market with an initial focus on the Eastern Seaboard.

"We are Rubber Stone Global.

It's a family owned business that started in Canada over 35 years ago.

We do rubber resurfacing all across Australia.

We cover any outdoor surface.

We do a lot of pools and patios, basically any hard surface that's outdoors.

What I love

I love the variety myself. I love to travel around and I enjoy doing it.

It's nice to see the transformations.

Best-fit person

I don't think there's any one fit. It can be a standalone business.

That's all we do.

But it can also be a great add on for a business such as landscaping or pool installers.

Good to know

Because we are a family owned business, we really care about our franchisees.

We want to make sure that we have the support to give them.

We do all the testing on materials and everything so that they know that they're installing the best product that they can.

Common misconceptions

I think we're often compared with children's playgrounds, but we are quite a bit different.

We go a lot thinner so it's not soft and spongy and it lasts a lot longer because of the products that we use.

Future focus and growth areas

We want to continue to support our existing franchisees and we're looking to expand across the eastern seaboard of Australia."
